Bitless Bridles 101: What Are They and How They Work
A bitless bridle works by gently applying pressure to parts of the horse’s head, like the nose, chin, or poll (the spot behind the ears). When you pick up the reins, a bitless bridle tightens slightly on these areas to guide your horse to turn, stop, or back up. Depending on the type of bitless bridle you use, the pressure may be felt in different spots. These cues are clear but kind, and many horses respond well to this type of communication.
